1-1/2 lbs. Ground Beef
1 cup Cracker Crumbs
1 Green Pepper, chopped
1 cup Tomatoes, drained
1 Egg, extra large
Salt & Pepper
Barbecue Sauce:
1 med. Onion
1 can Tomato Soup
1 can Water
3 T. Brown Sugar
5 T. Ketchup
1/2 tsp. Salt
1/4 tsp. Black Pepper
1/2 tsp. Dry Mustard
2 T. Margarine
Meat loaf can be made from your own recipe or you can use this one;
Mix together and form in covered baking dish or small roaster, ground beef, cracker crumbs, green pepper, tomatoes and egg.
Salt & pepper.
Mix well.
Add to pan.
Barbecue Sauce:
Mix together in saucepan, onion, tomato soup, water, brown sugar, ketchup, salt, black pepper and dry mustard.
Cook stirring 5 minutes.
Add 2 T. margarine.
Pour over formed meat loaf.
Cover baking dish.
Bake at 350° for 1-1/2 hours.
Baste meat loaf often.
This is the key to the meatloaf.
Slice meat loaf last 1/2 hour & keep basting about every 10 minutes.
Sauce is very good gravy for mashed potatoes topping.
