Cousin Jacks

Cousin Jacks Ingredients


Pie Crust:



2 cup flour

3/4 cup crisco

1/4 cup water

1 tsp salt



1-1/2 lb beef, cubed

4 to 5 potatoes, sliced

1 onion


Cousin Jacks Cooking Instructions


Pie Crust:



Mix flour, salt and crisco; add water gradually.

Cut beef into cubes (either stew meat or round steak).

Slice potatoes and onions into thin slices.

Roll pie dough out into small to medium circle.

Place potatoes across half of pie dough.

Lay a few onion slices on top of potatoes.

Place small handful beef on top of onions.

Season with salt and pepper.

Fold open half of pie dough over top of beef.

Crimp edges together.

Place two or three vent slices in top of crust.

Repeat same step for each Jack until all beef and crust are used.

Will get 4 to 5 Jacks per batch.

Place on cookie sheet.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes.

Top with heated jars of beef gravy and serve.  



Add:



1-1/2 lb beef, cubed
