Shoo Fly Cake

3 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup shortening
1 cup flour
1 cup molasses
1 cup hot water
1 tsp baking soda
Mix together 3 cups flour, 1 cup sugar, and 1 cup shortening.
Take 1 cup out for crumbs and add 1/2 cup sugar.
Add to the mixture 1 cup flour, 1 cup molasses, 1 cup hot water, and 1 tsp baking soda.
Pour mixture into three 9 or 10 inch round cake pans.
Makes 3 cakes.
Bake at 350 degrees for 35-45 minutes, until toothpick comes out clean.
