Self Icing Cake

Self Icing Cake Ingredients


2 cup flour

2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup Crisco

1 egg, beaten

1 tsp of soda

1 cup sour milk or buttermilk

1 tsp vanilla 


Self Icing Cake Cooking Instructions


Cream brown sugar and Crisco, add flour.

Take one cup of mixture out and set aside.

To rest of mixture add egg, soda, sour milk or buttermilk, and vanilla.

Pour into cake pan, then spread reserved dry mixture on top.

Bake at 350 degrees until tested with toothpick that comes out dry, about 50 minutes.
