Rolled Oats Cake Ingredients


1-1/2 cups Water

1 cup Quick Rolled Oats (let stand till cool)

1 cup Brown Sugar

1 cup White Sugar

1/2 cup Shortening

2 Eggs

1-1/2 cups Flour

1 tsp. Baking Soda

1/2 tsp. Salt



Topping:

1 stick Oleo

2 T. Milk

3/4 cup Brown Sugar

1 cup Chopped Nuts

1 cup Coconut


Rolled Oats Cake Cooking Instructions


Mix together water and rolled oats.

Cream together brown sugar, white sugar, shortening.

Add eggs and rolled oats mixture.

Then add flour baking soda and salt.

Put in pan and bake at 350° for 35 minutes.



Topping:

Mix all ingredients for topping together in saucepan.

Bring to boil and boil for 1 minute.

Spread over cake and brown under broiler.
