Fruit Squares

1 cup butter or margarine
4 eggs, beaten
1 tsp vanilla
1-1/2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
1 tsp lemon or orange extract
1 can fruit pie filling of choice
In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar.
Add eggs and flour, mix in extract.
Blend well spread batter on well-greased 15x10x1 pan.
Cut surface of the batter to make 24 squares.
Spoon pie filling in center of each square (during baking, batter puffs up around filling.)
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
Cool and cut into squares and sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
