Easter Babka

Easter Babka Ingredients


1 cup salted butter

6 eggs, well beaten

1/2 cup warm milk

2 cakes yeast

4-1/2 cups all purpose flour

1 cup sugar

1 tsp vanilla


Easter Babka Cooking Instructions


Melt butter and let cool.

Beat eggs well, add yeast that has been dissolved in warm milk.

Add the melted butter and the flour; beat well and let rise overnight.

In the morning add the cup of granulated sugar and the tsp of vanilla.

Mix well and let rise for the second time (1 or 1-1/2 hours).

Put in a very well-buttered 10 inch tube pan and let rise to the top of the pan.

Bake in a 375 degree oven for 45 minutes or until done.

Remove from pan and frost top with any favorite frosting or sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top.
