Applesauce Raisin Bars

2 cup flour

1-1/3 cup brown sugar

2 tsp soda

1 tsp salt

2 tsp pumpkin pie spice

1/2 cup shortening

2 cup applesauce

2 eggs

1 cup raisins

Brown Butter Icing:

6 tbsp margarine

3 cup powdered sugar

2 tsp vanilla

2 tbsp milk

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Grease a large cookie sheet.

Cream shortening and brown sugar together.

Mix in eggs and applesauce.

Add flour, soda, salt and pumpkin pie spice.

Mix well, add raisins.

Spread in pan.

Bake 25-35 minutes.

Cool.

Brown Butter Icing:

Melt margarine in saucepan over medium heat until brown.

Blend in sugar, vanilla and milk.

Beat until smooth and of spreading consistency.

If necessary stir in additional milk few drops at a time.

Spread on cooled bars.
