1-1/8 cup flour (1 cup + tbsp)
3/4 cup sugar
1-1/2 cup egg whites
1/2 tsp salt
1-1/2 tsp cream of tartar
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp almond extract

Measure 1-1/8 cup flour and 3/4 cup sugar in small bowl and set aside.
In large mixer bowl, mix egg whites and salt.
Beat on No. 8 speed until foamy.
Add cream of tartar.
Continue beating until whites are stiff and stand in peaks, but not until dry.
Add 1 cup sugar gradually on No. 7 speed, only until blended.
Then add vanilla and almond flavorings.
Fold in flour mixture gently and fold only until blended.
Bake in fluted cake pan at 375 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
Invert pan until cool.
