Lizzies Ingredients

1 Cup raisins

1/2 Cup bourbon or orange juice

1/4 Cup softened butter

1/2 Cup light brown sugar

2 eggs

1 1/2 Cups flour

1 1/2 tsp. baking soda

1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

1/2 tsp. nutmey

1/2 tsp. cloves

4 Cups pecan halves or walnut meats

1/2 lb. diced citron

1 lb. candied cherries

Lizzies Cooking Instructions

Stir raisins and bourbon together and let stand for one hour.
Cream butter, then gradually beat in brown sugar and add eggs one at a time; beating well after each egg is added.
Mix in flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves, mixing well.
Add raising in bourbon/juice and all of the remaining ingredients except for the candied cherries and mix well.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a well buttered cookie sheet and top each with one candied cherry.
Bake at 325 degrees for about 15 minutes.

Can dust powdered sugar on warm cookies after they have been removed from the cookie sheet if you want them to look a little fancier.
