2 package active dry yeast
2-1/2 cup warm water
1 tbsp salt
2 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp margarine
2 cup whole wheat flour
4-1/2 cup white flour
Cornmeal
Dissolve yeast in warm water, stir in salt, sugar, butter and whole wheat flour.
Work in white flour with spoon and hands.
Knead for 10 minutes.
Cover, let rise in warm place away from draft until doubled; 40-60 minutes.
Punch down.
Divide into 4ths.
Form each 4th into a 12 inch long roll with tapered ends.
Place well apart on 2 large greased cookie sheets that have been sprinkled with cornmeal.
Cover.
Let rise as previously.
Bake in 400 degree oven for 25-35 minutes.
Brush butter on top when done.
Makes 4 loaves.
