2 lb hamburger (or 1 lb hamburger and 1 lb ground round steak)
1 egg
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 medium sized onion, minced
1/2 cup scaled milk
Salt and pepper
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1/8 tsp allspice
1/8 tsp ginger

Beat eggs slightly and add to meat with milk and cornstarch; mix well.
Add rest of ingredients; beat thoroughly until very light, then form into small balls and roll in flour.
Brown in a little butter; simmer slowly until done, adding a little water if necessary.
When done, remove meat balls; add more flour to drippings and brown, then add enough water to make a medium thick gravy.
Season with salt and pepper and add meat balls.
These meat balls may be prepared several hours before serving.
